Valley Eye Clinic
Dr. Matthew Ward
“I think one of the biggest things actually has been the texting capability. Patient’s able to communicate via text questions are my trials in. Scheduling anything has been pretty amazing. We used another system, another patient communication software for a number of years, and was with them for about five years and just continued to have issues.
We did not have that. The fact that we can use our actual office. Phone number as the text line. I don’t remember the exact verbiage, sorry, but to have a phone number that was separate from our main office line. So a patient may get a text from a number, they weren’t recognized, but of course if they had stored our number in their phone.
They’d actually see it was coming from our Valley Eye Clinic rather than from a different unknown number. The dashboard is easy to use. We have had no connection issues. The software, the and the team have been amazing. So I think especially just to throw out there real quick too, patient communication.
We’ve had zero glitches because the Aloha team typically within less than an hour, if we have an issue it would be responded to. I think there were multiple times in the past with our previous patient communication software, where it might be two or three days before we would hear back from their support line.
And it would just go to a general support email address, whereas I’ve communicated with so many people at Aloha I often include them, even if it was once, they only communicated with me years ago on the message, and our information gets taken care of really quickly. So patient communication, online forms things that have been out by other companies for a number of years, but it seems like review wave, aloha has really, really improved the streamlined capabilities without running into any major issues.
I think that the workflow has really been revolutionized by the forms that we can use. The team has been very happy with the dashboard of sending out forms getting patient, requests for appointments. Again, it seems like review is really, from an IT standpoint, made it simple and easy for our web developers to get the information that they need.
As someone who just doesn’t understand how, a lot of how that works, it’s really nice to know that review excuse me, Aloha is able to handle that so well. We really don’t run encounter issues all day, every day to patients say, Hey, we found it really simple and easy to do. I’d incorporated really well with our EHR system, which is crystal. It’s been, it’s been fantastic experience overall.
I think if there’s any practice out there that is still manually managing a lot of these things, I think you’re, you’re falling behind. I’ll go so far as to say that. And that’s not to, take a dig at you, but just as a practice owner, I think if you could see the efficiency and the streamline ability that communication software like Aloha has these days.
If you take the time or find a teammate who’s maybe more computer savvy, if you’re concerned about doing something like this, it’s actually quite simple. I will say most of my team are over the age of 60. And they do fantastic with it. No real learning curve. Like anything, it takes a, a couple of days to learn it.
But if, if my team is coming to me, who’ve been in many industries and can say this, this makes things so much easier. Communication via email, communication, via text, getting the information that I need. A patient still hasn’t provided us with their, insurance card information we need to verify before they come in to make sure we take their insurance.
You know, you shoot out a quick text, just say, I am still waiting on this. They send the text, we import it into the file. There’s a lot of easy things. So I do know real and realize going to EHR for those people who are even using paper charts, there’s still people out there doing that. I think if you can see the ease, your team will appreciate it.
I think your mental health will appreciate it. Just knowing that everything is either backed up. On the cloud or on your server. Knowing that that information is able to be received in a quick and timely manner just makes a world of a difference for sure. So if there’s anybody out there that are still holding back patient communication software like this has been out for a long time.
It’s getting better all the time. Now is probably better than any time because the, the issues that occurred maybe in the early two thousands or late two thousands, most of those have been found out and, and solutions have been found. So if you’ve been dragging your feet to purchase patient communication software like Aloha for any reason I, I, I think you, you are in a perfect position now to not have to have concerns and know that you have a whole team to back you up through Aloha if you have those concerns.”
